More ….. about Confidential Business Profiles
As the samples profiles illustrate, confidential profiling begins with the ad template, and continues with an introductory profile, a financial profile and a full business profile, each designed to be release to potential buyers at the appropriate time. The profiles are ValuPro-generated from information input and calculated through the valuation exercise. Ultimately, profiles disclose essentially everything a buyer will need to know to reach a judgment with respect to location, size, earnings and cash flow, price and financial fit otherwise, as well as general industrial fit. But, the profiles will not identify the business.
Buyers want to learn everything as quickly as possible. They’re just looking for a business to buy with no particular concern, usually, about confidentiality. In fact, the more who know what they’re looking for, the better chance they’ll find it perhaps.
Business owners/sellers on the other hand, have, and should have great concern over providing the indiscriminate disclosure of confidential information, and often hire business brokers to represent them in the sale of their business, in part, to maintain distance and confidentiality.
Businesses for-sale-by-owner, often have had no buffer of confidentiality, it is may be difficult or impossible for the owner to deal with a buyer and maintain anonymity. When the business is identified and exposed, many owners will become nervous and selective about what can be disclosed, frustrating buyers to the point where they will sometimes walk away.
Confidential business profiles delivered through a third party serve to mitigate between the competing motivations and interests of buyer and seller, by providing a buyer what is needed to quantify interest, reach conclusions and make decisions about next steps, as quickly as the level of interest would dictate, while withholding information that would identify the business.
Through our on-line intermediary program, Business-Trader.com will (for participating buyers and sellers) be that buffer of confidentiality by providing the third party separation required to maintain mutual anonymity until both parties agree to be identified.
